We arrived in Winnipeg without problems and were at the hotel, The Inn at the Forks, by 1 pm. After check in we walked to the Market at the Forks and had a small lunch of Ukrainian sausage. Turns out Winnipeg has a large Ukrainian population and Ukrainian food is quite popular. There's a warm spell and today is about 10 degrees so we're quite comfortable in our arctic parkas. We watched the skaters and sleigh riders in the park that surrounds the hotel. There are multiple skating areas, including on the river, and the are all connected by a skating trail. After dinner at a lovely little restaurant in the downtown area we went to a play at The Royal Manitoba Theatre. After a nights rest we walked to the nearby Human Rights Museum which was a truly outstanding place that documented the struggle for human rights in Canada and around the world. Tonight we had dinner with our travel companions, four women from Hamilton, Ontario and a couple from North Carolina who have not yet arrived. So, we are a group of only eight with our own dedicated guide. Fantastic.
