We (Winnie and I, lest there be any confusion) got out of town just in time with the first snow of the season (?) due to arrive Saturday night. This is a pretty ambitious trip as it takes us to Jacksonville, FL and then on to Fremont, CA. It’s mostly a working trip, but Sue will join us in California on November 18 for a short trip to San Diego to visit an old (not meant in a disparaging way) high school friend. We’ll be giving thanks for our family, health and blessings in San Diego before Sue jumps on a plane to return home and to school. I’ll be headed to Anaheim to see the Flyers take on the Ducks and if things work out to Phoenix to see them play the Coyotes. I’m planning to follow Route 66 on the way home as far as St. Louis. We hope to be back in Delaware by December 10.
Winnie just got out of the hospital after a transmission transplant. I’m crossing my fingers, knocking on wood, and praying that this is the last major repair for a while. There are no pictures for today as it was raining most of the way from Washington to North Carolina and we got into the RV Park after dark.
I had a nice lunch today with Kyle, our oldest son, at G&M near Baltimore. They make great crab cakes. The only downside of eating at G&M is that I had to pass up Dixie Bones in Woodbridge, VA, my favorite BBQ joint. One of my favorite TV shows is Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives”. I’ve mapped out a bunch of the places he’s visited along I10 from Florida to Arizona. I’ll let you know if they are as good as they look on TV.
