After a good morning breakfast and some consulting, we headed back to Davenport and then West on Highway 2. More farm land and some large circular irrigation systems. It doesn't seem boring, because each place is different. A Rest Stop along the highway to have lunch and exercise us and the dogs.

What a downgrade going into the Columbia River basin! Six miles of 6% down grade with a lot of 40 mph curves and low gear driving. Judie was quiet, but hanging on grab bars of the truck!! The Columbia River area is known for its apples and other fruit. We stopped at a fruit stand and buy apples, plums, pluots, peaches and corn. The river is very wide, looks like some of the lakes we have seen recently.

We ended up in Leavenworth at the KOA. We plan on spending 2 nights here to wander thru the town to enjoy this Bavarian town. We seem to have arrived for the Autumn Leaf Festival this weekend. This is the start of Oktoberfest for the next 3 weekends. The train schedule has been expanded to include a stop in Leavenworth and last night was the inaugural run. Apparently, the folks of Leavenworth rode that train and had quite a party on the ride. Big moment for Leavenworth... Looking forward to seeing the Beans next week.... maybe, golfing for Ed..and good visiting for Judie
