The plane which took me to Bangkok.

Klong Saen Saep. One of few remaining canals in Bangkok.

The MBK.

18 February.

Early checkout from the Lai Thai Guesthouse and rather short minibus trip to the airport. The airline which took me to Bangkok, was a low price airline, One Two Go. They have maybe not the best reputation, since the crash in Phuket a year ago or so. However the flight went well and one hour later I arrived to Don Muang, Bangkok’s old airport. To arrive to Don Muang nowadays is a rather gloomy experience. Most of the airport buildings are empty and closed, only the small domestic wing of the terminal show some life. The taxi trip into central Bangkok became a pleasant surprise for me. Instead of the normal fixed prices, this taxi driver surprised me by to go on the taximeter. Of all taxi transports I ever had before, this trip became the absolutely cheapest. Since I spend so short time here in Bangkok, I decided to test a new area, The Siam Centre area. So for the moment I live in the middle of Bangkok’s shopping area. My hotel, the A One Inn hotel is just a short walk from the MBK, one of Bangkok’s bigger shopping temples.

19 February.

For this day, I had no bigger plans. Just strolling around a little bit, mostly to see what I possibly could buy later on, just before my home going. For the moment I am not in a position to do any bigger shopping. Because during my next flight, there I am only aloud to have 15-kilo luggage and also that everything I buy from now on, I have to carry for a long time. Today I visited the Pratunam market and finished with a visit at the indoor and air-conditioned, MaBonKrong MBK shopping centre.
