|Left Boonville MO early to try and beat some of the heat we have been riding in. Still in a lot of farm land with corn fields as far as you can see. Temperature was 106 in Council Bluff Iowa ( not heat index). Lot of stops for hydration and DQ milkshakes. Still hard to imagine as you drive along at 75mph that people headed west in wagon trains that averaged around 8-9 miles a day. Was a long day and made it to Mitchell SD where we got a room and at dusk was still hot. Unloading the trailer we met some riders from Quebec CA heading to Alaska and chit chatted in the parking lot for over a hour. We are meeting some great people on this trip.
