On the road with Ed and Judie travel blog

Monday we had another short drive day with the move being less than 150 miles. We drove on US 98 along the coast and really enjoyed the Gulf drive. We stayed at the Emerald Coast RV Resort which has a Woodall 5 star rating and a Trailer Life 3-10 rating. The price was more that we would normally spend for a RV Park but they did have a lot of amenities. Monday afternoon we went on a drive and realized that this really was Spring Break week here. There were lots of collage age kids everywhere and lots of traffic. A trip to Walmart was a lesson in Spring Break (so many kids). We made a stop at the County Pier to look around and get view of the beach. It was hard to see much of the beach with all the condos along the road blocking the view.

Tuesday we started the project to replace some of our rubber seals on the slides. The seal on the main slide had come partially off at the both ends and the top. The rubber was easy to remove but the glue that attached it was not easy to remove. It took a lot of scraping with a razor blade and Goop Off. We both worked at this most of the day. We managed to use the hot tub and heated pool along with doing the project. We also washed the outside of the coach and car. We completed the car and about ½ the coach on the first day.

Wednesday we completed the coach washing and the side seals on the slide. We decide to do the top seal later as it will be a major project with the limited space for access. We had a little incident losing power to all our outlets in the coach. After a lot of checking of breakers and fuses, we called a RV Tech for help. He pointed out a breaker on the inverter that had tripped. Another learning curve as we did not know that breaker was there. Apparently all the outlets circuits go through the inverter so you can power them from the inverter and batteries when you have no shore power. We managed to get in another trip to the hot tub and pool. Thursday it will be on to Carrabelle and more of the Gulf beaches.
