Drove up to Picton to catch the evening ferry across the Cook Straight to Wellington. Takes about three and a half hours but it has to be one of the most scenic ferry journeys in the world as it weaves through the bays of Marlborough Sound. Didn't see any dolphins but we did see the bar. Arrived in Wellington to a cracking sunset and the view of the cricket ground right on the quayside. March 2008. Note.
