McLeod Family Trip 2010 travel blog

Tuesday 18 May

Big sleep in. Drove into Grenoble 10m. Eventually found a carpark and went up the telephonic to the old Bastille. Great views of the city, French Alps, Mt Blanc, Vercors, St Egreve, Rue De Liberation the longest street in France. Down to the old ville and to Victor Hugo Square for lunch. Pizza and Creppes. Del had fun with the creppe maker about English and French language. Sun shining but still got the chill.

Back through the old ville and little shopping. Found our favourite bookshop still there. Then on to a special bridge Pont du …. Where Delwyn was asked to be wed. Boys had many questions. Mum requested Dad on his knee again!!

The boys were invited to attend rugby training with St Eghreve juniors. Christian showed us the way. It was very nice. The boys loved playing rugby. French boys were very kind and welcoming shaking their hands which is such a tradition and so positive. The coaches want to if boys can play on Saturday. Have our photo with Grenoble Senior captain who came down to watch. Over to Pinottis for the famous Raclette dinner. Yum!
