McLeod Family Trip 2010 travel blog

Wednesday 19 May

The Parking Council was here this morning and have painted yellow lines so the Kiwis know where to park! Took the boys to Dads favourite shop Decathlon.” Twenty years ago there was know Rebel Sport so this shop had it all. We said it was just a visit to look . Ended up rolling out two baskets of good deals….things we needed of course and some souvenirs.

Drove thirty minutes north to Voiron where we first stayed on arrival with Henri Duc. it’s a nice little township. Had a wander through and sat in the sun at a lovely café….ze French life!!

Mum decided on a Tiki tour home through the mountains. The scenery was outstanding, mountain rivers, tunnels, overhanging rocks, cliffs Huge mountain tops and little villages. We remember doing Cross country skiing around here especially near Chatreuses. Very nice. Road back down to La Monta was narrow and a bit hairy but La Beast handled it well.

Back to Pinottis for another dinner party, and surprise when Patrick arrived to say bonjour. We spent many times with Patrick. He was a great ski teacher to us. It was neat to see him!

Tomorrow we plan to take Babette up to Chamrousse our old ski station and go for a hike to a lake.
