Our home in Anchorage

Just outside the RV Park

We woke up to a gloomy, overcast day. What a difference a day can make! We were definitely lucky that we had such a nice day to go into the park. We broke camp and headed toward the park entrance. After stopping to empty our tanks, we were back on the Parks Highway toward Anchorage. The initial plan was to stop in Talkeetna and take one of the flight-seeing tours over Denali Park and Mt McKinley. However, with the weather like it is, we now have our doubts on this one. The lady at the visitor center in Talkeetna called the outfit that does the tours and we learned that they were only doing part of the flight due to the low ceiling. So, we decided to press on. It rained off and on most of the way into Anchorage.

We stopped at the Anchorage RV Park and checked in for a few days. There is a lot to do in the area and we plan to take a couple of day trips south of Anchorage to check out this beautiful area. When we leave here we will be heading to Valdez.

It was late and we didn't feel like cooking, so we headed into Anchorage to find someplace to eat. We found a nice little place downtown that was serving crab legs and salmon. Janet had the king crab legs and I had the fresh silver salmon. It was good. When we finished, it was still raining so we decided to head back to camp. There were a couple of moose dining along the road at the RV park entrance. The cameras were in the RV so we didn't get any pictures. Maybe we will see them again before we leave.

What will tomorrow bring? We'll just have to wait and see!
