We added another country to our list today, we visited the amazing city of Piran, Slovenia. We left Trieste early and took the local bus to the bus station where we bought our tickets directly to Piran. The cost was about 12 euros each. We are getting really good at using the buses in Italy and the surrounding areas. It is really nice having a bus stop right outside our door. :-)
Piran (Italian: Pirano) is a town in the Municipality of Piran in southwestern Slovenia on the Gulf of Piran on the Adriatic Sea. It is one of the three major towns of Slovenian Istria. The town has medieval architecture, with narrow streets and compact houses. Piran is the administrative center of the local area and one of Slovenia's major tourist attractions. Until the mid 20th century Italian was the dominant language, but was replaced by Slovene as populations moved.
Our bus also had several stops along the way, we got to take a quick look at Koper and several other cool towns in Slovenia. We will definitely be making more trips to this awesome area. Check back later for more.
