|Spent 2 nights in Singapore at the Hyatt (yes, again on points)
Another big city that's too expensive, we didn't enjoy it too much. Though it was by far the cleanest city we've been to. The rumors that you get fined for throwing gum on the sidewalk must be true bc they are all immaculate! Oh, and you're not allowed to drop cig butts, curse, urinate, go naked or jaywalk either. NYC and London could definitely take some tips from here...
We did the token city bus tour, which included a stop at the Sin ling tower -- 6 stories of nothing but electronics and accessories. Overwhelming, they all looked the same! But yes, we splurged and bought an MP3 player - like an IPOD but better.
That afternoon, we went to Raffles Hotel for high tea and a Singapore Sling (the drink was created at the long bar there) They were overpriced and not nearly as nice as a Hurricane - so we left after one drink.
The next day, we separated for only the second time on the trip. I went to the museum while L went to the Internet Cafe to upload photos. Which explains why I didn't keep up to date. I should've gone with him as the Singapore Museum of Art was nothing more than 10 rooms with about 5 paintings each in them. Quite a disappointment.
I toured a bit through Chinatown afterwards as well, where I found so many of the same souvniers, curios, etc we saw in Vietnma but at 4 times the cost. Glad I didn't wait to shop there!
Met up with L again and almost as soon as we arrived, we were off to the airport for Sydney!
