Stayed the night with Gaddy & co in order to avail myself of the 5 star facilities (ie soft toilet paper, power shower and tea bags) before getting up next day to catch the 6.30am flight to Adelaide.
So here I am. Sunny South Australia. The driest state on the driest continent on earth. Home of fine wines, opals, the Don Bradman legend and of course the pie floater! More on that culinary masterpiece later.
Fortunately I'd booked ahead (into Annie's Place backpackers) as it seems there isn't a spare bed to be found in Adelaide over the next few days. The hostel is experiencing an influx of Englishmen and sadly, the German backpackers who have been here and didn't have the foresight to book ahead more than a day at a time have all had to leave the city. They are not happy. (Mr Williams - what is "It's just not cricket" in German please?)
Anyway I am now in a 10-bed dorm with 9 other Engish fans. Could get messy.
