McLeod Family Trip 2010 travel blog

11 June Friday

Up early at the Hostel which we think is an old convent. Found the bank and then the tourist office who helped us find a camping ground,,,,only one in Lucca -so off we go.It’s very nice… geared up for Motorhomes. Very hot …nearly 40 deg.Tents up and then hit the pool… brand new 30m paradise. \Stayed in the pool most of the afternoon planning and relaxing. Cruised into Lucca the walled city and wander the streets to find some Italian Pizza. An amazing city with narrow cobbled steets and ancient 4 storied homes and buildings which make the streets nice and cool.Great in these temps…would be a different story in winter.Sit in Piazza Napolean where they have set up a giant soccer ball TV to show the world cup. Boys all looked like drown rats after being in the pool most of the day but so nice to just sit,eat and people watch.Lots of primary aged school kids and parents fileing out from area at end of the dressed like characters out of Peter Pan.Very cute.Guessing it’s an end of year school production as their school year ends in a couple of weeks.Back home before camping ground curfew @ 9.00pm. Boys will sleep well to-night!
