Frankfurt, Germany to Barcelona, Spain

Our flight arrived in Frankfurt at about 5:10am and after we passed through Immigration (into Europe), we had to wait for about 2½ hours for our onward flight to Barcelona. The flight up from Accra was not full and was quite turbulent. The flight from Frankfurt to Barcelona was full and we arrived in Barcelona around 9:45am. After we had collected our baggage, we caught the airport bus to the square about 5 blocks from our hotel and lugged our bags on our backs down to the hotel. The day was cooler than any we had experienced since we left Australia – it was only about 17C when we arrived and looked like rain, however it held off until later in the day. After we had settled into the hotel, just near the main pedestrian strip (La Ramblas), we went for a walk into the market and had some lunch (fish) sitting on stools in a really nice little eatery. After lunch we went shopping, walking around for ages and finally came back about 5:30pm, had a rest and a chat about what we were going to do while we were here. We didn’t feel like having dinner so just went out about 9pm to buy some bread and cheese and a drink and came back to the room and ate it. Had a bath and then bed at around 11:30pm. The time went forward two hours from Ghana time to Spain time, so it was still light at about 8:30pm here in the city.
