Thursday was a Big Day for us. We met Gloria at Petsmart and the dogs got another day in doggie day care. Gloria drove us to Midway Airport where we caught the ‘L’ Train to Wrigley Field for a Cubs vs Arizona game.

Wrigley is the second oldest baseball field and has its own charm with all the restaurants and bars around the park. With multi-story buildings close to the field, there are grandstands on top of some of the buildings to watch the game. Judie thought they could’ve used a few more handrails on those roof stands, and was sure glad we weren’t in them!

The Cubs lost the game with a final score 13 – 5. There were lots of home runs, but only one by the Cubs. There were 2 grand slams. The wind was blowing again but the day was sunny and warm when we were out of the wind. We returned to Midway byway of the ‘L’, to Petsmart for the dogs and home for an early bed time after this long day. Judie had never been on a commuter train before and was very curious! We couldn’t believe how close the train tracks were to the old buildings!

Friday we spent the day with Gloria looking around Plainsfield and the adjoining towns. She took us to her favorite restaurant for lunch and we had a terrific lunch. We know why that’s her favorite spot. We also did a little shopping and lots of looking.

Friday night we went out with Brian and Suzanne to a very nice restaurant and had sushi as an appetizer and then each of us tried different seafood entries. All of them were excellent and we ‘taste tested’ all of them. A very nice night with Brian and Suzanne, and we appreciated Gloria staying home with the girls. Brian bought some Culver Cream and we had a bowl of cream with everyone before we headed for the trailer.

Saturday morning we cleaned up and packed the trailer for travel. Brian and Suzanne brought the girls over for a visit to the trailer so they could understand where the great aunt and uncle were sleeping. Goldie and Zoe had been thinking we were sleeping in the truck, and thought we should stay in their extra bedroom! We said our good byes and headed north for Wisconsin.
