Boys had a good sleep in (unfortunately some of us were still awake at 3.00am!)Then caught our Big Bus Jump On Jump Off Tour.Red double decker open topped bus with live commentary. Excellent. Re-traced some of our route yesterday then into the City of London-Old London Town. Fascinating history…couldn’t believe we never did this tour when we lived here 20years ago…shame on us! Jumped off at The Tower of London. No ques so decided to visit. Had a tour with one of the Yeoman (Beefeaters)Guards. He was very funny, had a pretty uniform and had lots of interesting stories on the history of the Tower. Huge place inside the outer walls. Walked through the extremely high security building to see the Crown jewels, Crowns, gold plates, jugs ,bowls all gorgeous and a glittering Walked around the inner wall..saw Traitors Gate where the prisoners were dragged in from the Thames and where they were left and tortured.Charming.Fascinating history.Quite riverting in fact.Henry VIII so famous for his wickedness was fat and butt ugly. His wives had clearly lost their heads long before Henry chopped some of them off.Guess their fate had already been sealed by scheming fathers and brothers and he wasn’t the kind of guy you said “no” too.Took river cruise back to Westminster.Jumped back on bus and continued tour -Hyde Park, famous London residents homes and neighbourhoods,Marble Arch.Back home for late dinner and bed….
