Jamaica Bound - Project J-2 Edmonton & Mandeville

Kerri travel blog
Welcome to our trip journal! We're about to go on a global solidarity pilgrimage to Mandeville, Jamaica. Our parish of St. Theresa in Mill Woods has twinned with the diocese of Mandeville. Our team of ten has been invited to experience the beauty, poverty and growth of the people in this rural area. In our weeklong visit, we hope to build a house for a needy family and distribute goods to homeless children and others. We fly into Montego Bay, a thriving business-and-commercial centre, and then travel three hours south in a van to Mandeville, which lies on a plateau above the sea in the tropical highlands of Don Figuerero Mountains. The week is well rounded with opportunities to share our inspiration and gifts and to receive inspiration and gifts from the local Jamaicans.
