The next day we drove the Port Hills drive in the fog and unfortunately missed the view (we hear its really beautiful) and drove to Akaroa - The Banks Peninsula (gorgoeus French Riviera type town) for the afternoon where we bought Baileys Irish Cream Fudge for Squeezer. That night we stayed just outside of Timaru in a rest area next to a railway line (not much sleep was had) and a mobile front of a steam train/house - now thats a much more interesting and slow way of travelling around NZ.
