As luck wouldn't have it the weather was not on our side and while the drive to Palmerston is on top of the coastline and gorgeous (the best idea ever have your roads pass through your amazing countries scenary) it was also wet as the pics show. We stopped along the way at the inappropriately named 'Shag Point' which has the cutest seal colony which you literally fell like you are in touching distance from (pictured on entry before). We arrived in Dunedin and wandered around the bustling town in the rain deciding to drive out and camp that night on the beach. We decided against the brewery tour (as one of us had to drive out) but it does come highly recommended by all who've we've met on our travels -they let you pull your own samples!! That night we found a beach to camp by and explored the coastline in the pitch black in search of a pub. NZ is great in that you can pretty much camp where you like it is also very remote in that if we'd succeeded on our quest for beer we would of had to walk for about 15K in the opposite direction.
