We left Queenstown late morning and drove through some wonderful snow topped mountains all the way to the beautiful Mount Cook National Park. I might just point out that our camera is totally falling apart with broken mechanisms and screen so if the pics are naff poor Tbag is taking them blind! The first thing that dropped was the temp when we got out of the car and we walked very quickly to the swing bridge to watch the moon come up over the mountains. We camped that night and met some lovely 18 year old boys from Reading who came to sit with us and travel talk the night away, we were very glad of the company and the red wine helped us sleep that night. The next day we were awoken early by the friendly and naughty kea birds clambering all over our van trying to take off our windows rubber -they did not succeed luckily. We opted for the 2 hour walk to the mirror lakes complete with its very own icebergs - a cool and chilling sight and mamnged to aviod any avalanches so glad their not in season yet!
