Today we hooked up with the lovely Johan in Greymouth for coffees in a very funky Camden town type cafe. We nattered all morning swapping stories and got the low down on the North Island and it was such a shame that after trying so hard to hook up for beers that we had just missed each others emails and had to settle for our caffeine breakkie instead (big hello John and trust your still having fun.) We dragged ourselves away lunchtime and stepped on the gas briefly stopping at Punankaiki to see some wicked blowholes and pancake rocks before continuing onto Nelson. It was at this point that Paul realised he had left our camping chairs at Hokitika Kiwi Hoilday Park drying in the sunshine - not one of our better moments and believe me this was just the beginning.
We stayed at a lovely holiday park in Nelson and went into town around 8pm, stopping off first at the ROCK cafe where we befriended our first Maori and he gave us the low down on where to go for dinner. We took his advice and went to the fabulous Lone Star for dinner, a fancy Mexican Western with the biggest food portions in the world, needless to say we ate and drank far too many burritos:) We continued onto a pub where we met the lovely Megan and Briget who we then went back to the Rock cafe with to dance and get very drunk with (put it this way to those of you who know the bag he was at the point where he didn't want to dance and stood there with a drunken grin on his face all night:) We stumbled home around and somehow managed to find our campsite.
