|Today was difficult, as there were so many goodbyes in it. We began with farewells and thanks to the friendly staff of the Montri Hotel, then hopped into a SongTow for a trip to the Partners' offcie.
Our team met with Steve Gumaer briefly, who gave us some great debriefing advice. He told us that WE have changed in the past couple of weeks, but that our families and friends have not. Some of them will be more interested than others in what we have experienced. Then he proceeded to give us some good tips on how to handle those who are not as interested.
The hardest part of the day came as we bid farewell to Jay, Shelly, and Wyatt. They would be staying in Chiang Mai for another week, and had plans to travel with Write Dee and Joe.
Then it was off to the airport to board our plane to Bangkok for the first leg of our return trip to Alaska.
Our hotel for the night, the Novatel, was extraordinary! We felt very pampered. We all enjoyed a shower and a terrific dinner, and then a swim in a huge out-door pool surrounded by greenery. Then it was off to enjoy our comfortable, huge bed for the night.
