Paul & Jan's Fulltime Adventure travel blog

Finally, we are on the road heading for warmer territory, at least we hope. Chunks of ice & snow were falling off the top of the RV as far south as Oklahoma. I'm sure glad they didn't hit any vehicles, that would have been bad! We made it to McAlester, OK, before we stopped for the night. The next day it was on into Texas, through Waco, Austin, Dallas & just a little past San Antonio before we stopped again. The plan had been to stay for a couple of nights so we could visit the Alamo & Riverwalk in San Antonio. But, since we were late getting this far we decided to head on down to the Rio Grande Valley & stop here on our way back north in the spring.

Some friends of ours who also belong to the MO Excel Club are staying at the Texan Mobile RV Park in McAllen, TX. They had called us & said that there was an open site right next to them if we hadn't found a place to stay yet. The price sounded alright, so we decided to go for it. We called them just before we got to McAllen to get the directions to the park. As we pulled in, Reba & Billy Bob were waiting to help us get set up. It truly was a nice, roomy site, so I think we did good. They welcomed us to the Valley & told us we are now honorary "Winter Texans".

It's good to be here. More....
