Allegany State Park is in southernmost New York State. Its south border is the Pennsylvania state line. It is very close to Bradford, PA where Sue and all of her sisters graduated from St. Bernard's High School. It's a pretty park set among rolling eastern mountains.
I have hiked almost all of its trails. But, it rained nearly every day during this visit and the trails are damp in sunny weather, so Sue, Arnie and I stuck to the paved bike path that encircles Red House Lake (photo) near our campground. Nevertheless we enjoyed our visit as always.
Three of Sue's sisters live in the area and we were able to get together with all of them for a "picnic" at the See Ya on Sunday. The weather remained damp, so Sue turned the hamburgers into meatloaf and we spent an enjoyable afternoon (photo) inside the See Ya. It was good to get together with Helen, Liz, Dottie and Dottie's husband, Dave.
Tomorrow we move on toward the east. Our next planned stop is near Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame.
