|Today we visited the Tillamook area. One of the interesting attactions in this area is the Tillamook Air Museum. The location is an original WWII Naval Air Station Blimp Hanger ... the largest wood structure in the world. It was one of a few locations to house teh K-class blimps used for anti-submarie coast patrol and convoy escort during WWII. Several classic aircraft are on display.
We also took a trip to Cape Meares Lighthouse. You'll see the pics of the beautiful location.
An added bonus was a short side trip to Munson Creek Falls ... the largest, as in tallest waterfalls in Oregon. What a sight. As you probably know, waterfalls are one of our favorite things to see.
We thought of Bob's sister, Cindy and her friend Jerry when we saw all the boats lined up on Tillamook Bay trying to catch salmon. They enjoy fishing ... and this site is one of the favorite places for fish on the coast of Oregon. Not unusual to pull up a 30 pound salmon in this bay.
Enjoy the pics.
