We left Truman and headed to Hermann to host at the city park. Up until now, they have never had a host here. It's not such a hard job. Besides taking care of the campground, I mow some grass in the park (when it grows). I plan to paint the posts at each site. We are present to answer questions and help the campers find their sites. Camping here is on the honor system so we don't handle any money. Fees are deposited in a box at the bath house in the park.
We have met a lot of nice people here and have had a chance to spend quality time with family and friends.
In September we had a birthday party for Brendon, our youngest grandson. He is now 5 (going on 15)! All of the kids are growing up too fast! We had a great time.
It's almost time to move on. Every weekend during Oct is Oktoberfest in Hermann and the campground is booked solid. They don't have a space for us to park, so we will be out of here. The last weekend of September is the annual BBQ & Brats Festival. It's a busy, busy event with over 50 venders competing for awards. The weather is perfect, the smell of BBQ is in the air and the place is crazy! Some of the campers who were in the competition gave us some brats and ribs, so we had the whole family over on Saturday evening for BBQ. There was live music in the park, the food was good and everyone had a great time.
The party's over. Here we go again.....
