Lonely Campsite

Sonoma Valley Vineyard

Northern Valley Orchards

A trip inland from the redwoods and coast brought us to the Upper Sonoma Valley ... an area rich with vineyards and a much different topography. Lots of hills ... low mountains ... very dry ... not much vegetation ... fewer evergreens and more hardwoods. The campsite we decided on was virtually empty ... 200 sites ... half a dozen campers.

We took a trip into Calistoga, which is at the north end of the Sonoma Valley. The area is famous for it's hot springs and spas. Yes ... we partook of the hot mineral pools ... couldn't pass on that. Interestingly enough, the air temp was in the 80's, so it didn't feel quite as refreshing as when we did hot mineral pools when air temp was in the 40's and 50's ... but never-the-less, we enjoyed it.

There were lots of vineyards in this area ... but we didn't partake of any wine today ... the mountain driving was too intense to do it with wine on our breath ... LOL.

Not many pics this time ... more again in the future.
