For many years now, Bonnie and I have enjoyed watching The Hour of Power from The Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove CA ... wonderful guest interviews and music, simple instructions for living the Christian life, etc. And, we've heard about The Glory of Christmas, CC's annual live production of the nativity story. So ... while in California ... why not take it in?

We attended The Glory of Christmas on Saturday night, then attended worship at CC on Sunday morning. What a beautiful campus ... all dressed up for Christmas, groomed and clean. The cathedral and prayer tower is even more impressive in person than seeing it in pics. We took a few shots to give you an idea of how impressive it all is.

There are no words to describe The Glory of Christmas ... with live animals, including the Wisemen on three large camels ... 7 angels suspended from nearly 100' in the air, soaring with the greatest of ease ... live and recorded music. I don't think I've ever experienced such a grand display depicting the Christmas story. We'll surely never forget the experience. If you ever find yourselves in southern California in December, don't miss it ... with a cast of 100's and several hundred others in the production, it's probably the most impressive nativity story you will ever witness. No cameras allowed in the program, so I copied a few from the website for you to see.

Sunday worship was also quite an experience. The pipe organ in the CC is the largest in the world ... and when the organist opens it up ... WOW!! We were treated to a guest speaker, Max Lucado ... a very well known Christian writeer ... his books are fun to read and filled with great info to help "keep the faith".

Hope you enjoy this edition of our travel experiences.
