We took a slight detour to Leroy, NY, near Batavia. How could we not visit the Jell-o Museum, the birthplace of the dessert of our childhood. A bored builder developed this dessert while experimenting during the winter months and went on to sell the business and the idea to Post for $450. This was in the early 1900's. The Post family then sold it for over $50,000,000 to Kraft and Jell-o continues.
Several people from this area of New york were very involved in the Underground Railroad. It was rather humbling to look at the sleigh used to transport slaves to freedom and safety.
