The Mellott's Summer 2010 Adventures travel blog

This is Steve and Jim's country home. NOT! It's the first winery...

Virg, Me and Steve before started tasting.

We are having our fondue dinner.

Steve and Jim with very full stomachs!

Off we go again, this time to our son, Steve's home in Charlottesville, VA. We had four awesome days with Steve and his partner, Jim. They have a nice home that is located in the country about 20 miles from Charlottesville. They both work in town, but wanted to get out of the hustle and bustle when they go home.

Unfortantley, Jim had to work while we were there, so Steve had to entertain us and that he did. Since the Charlottesville area is become know for it's fine wines, we decided to go taste some of them to decide for ourselves. To say the least, we were not disappointed! We only went to two wineries, but they were very generous with their tastings and it us just about all day! We brought several bottles back with us.

We had some great meals while, as well. Steve and Jim cooked one night, I cooked some good old homemade tacos one night (easy was the name of the game)and then Steve treated all of out to the "Melting Pot" in downtown Charlottesville. Virg and I love fondue and this evening was a great treat for us.

Steve and Jim, we want to thank you for your hospitality. You made us feel so welcome and at home. Thanks also for letting me us your brand new washer and dryer. I wish I could take it home with me!
