Dan & Leah's Excellent Adventure travel blog

Started the day with booking of flights and accommodation to Paris for 3 days, departing Saturday 23 July.

With Dan behind the wheel of Nana's car we make our way to Joan Healy's place, a good family friend of Dan's parents. Joan played the organ in Tony and Helen's wedding, we think she also did the order of service.

It was then onto Preston shopping centre for a cuppa with Uncle Damian (Helen's brother). We then stopped at Damian's lovely house for lunch where we met Pauline (Damian's wife) Amy and Beth (daughters).

After lunch we visited Grandad Tom in the nursing home. Grandad was in good spirits singing and dancing with Leah. It was nice to see that he knew Nana's name, and we think he might of understood that Dan had come on a big plane to visit him. We must have created a special vibe at the home as some residents for the first time got out of their chairs to dance with us, by the end of our visit we had a crowded sitting room laughing at us!

A quick break at home and it was out again for a hair cut for Dan, followed by a beer with Uncle Phil at the Tea Rooms.

By this stage it was 7.30pm and Sharon, Becky and Katherine (Phil's ex-wife and children) had come to pick us up for dinner at the Pageant Pub. We had a lovely dinner over story telling and plenty of laughs.

What a great day was had!
