Milford Sound - yet another feast for the eyes, this town is stunning. But can't really call it a twon bc there's nothing there except an information center and a marina to take people on lake cruises. As we have done a few too many of those in the last few months, we decided to pass on the opportunity and explored by foot instead. That lasted all of about 30 mins because there wasn't much more to see than the spectaular view of mirrored lakes and snow-capped mountains.
So we headed back to the only campsite in the town by about 5. Turns out this place doesn't have power after 11pm. So not only was there nothing to do there and it was freezing, we didn't even have the luxury of the van heater to keep us warm overnight!
Fortunately, reception had a selection of board games to lend. We borrowed Battleship and Scrabble and played games for the next few hours, making sure we were tucked in long before 11 so as to keep as much warmth in as possible.
