Our first full day in Oxford started with a walking tour of the colleges of Oxford University. Paid entry into Christ Church College which was founded in 1524. Such an amazing set of buildings given it is a place of study with some of the most incredible buildings. Houses the 4th smallest cathedral in Britain and more importantly the film set for the dining hall in Harry potter's Hogwarts (just kidding I promise). The organ tuner was there when we were in the cathedral; comes over from Austria each year (the very nice lady who cleans there was very informative!).
Our walk continued around the town and certainly makes us want to go back for more in the morning. As the guide book says, there are around 1000 historic buildings of interest in Oxford and there are good shops too (that last bit is from me not the guide book).
Mum spent the afternoon catching up with her good friends Ross and Susan while I spent the afternoon at last admitting I wasn't well, and had a snooze and a relax. Tomorrow is however another day. A return to Oxford City Centre in the morning then if energy levels are good, a tiki tour around the Cotswolds.
Weather still not the best, but not stopping us from doing anything. Looks ready to improve over the next couple of days. At least it isn't cold anymore; those first couple of days were a bit chilly especially after leaving a lovely sunny Wellington.
Hard to believe we haven't yet been in the UK for a week as seem to have done a lot. No wonder we are both feeling tired! (but good).
