Had a good day out exploring on Thursday, heading to Chatsworth in the Peak District. A vey hot day in the high 20's. We stopped at Buxton en route, and very pretty it was too. An old spa town with municipal baths and lots of green space (lovely parks) in the centre. Then to Chatsworth which is one of the best homes in Britain owned by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Currently has a show on tv about it. Beautiful rolling green hills, masses of trees and a gorgeous home. Built and developed over a number of centuries but started around Elizabethan times. Too hot to wander the gardens so took a scenic route through the Peak District on the way home; and very lovely it was too. Huge numbers of stone walls separating the fields which spread into the distance.
A lovely meal at Peter and Annie's and now we get ready for our weekend in Northen Ireland!
