Gleneagles: Had a lovely time catching up with Adriane as well as catching up on washing and a bit of sleep too. A very beautiful part of Scotland and a superb day for our drive from Edinburgh. Stirling castle looked great as we drove past.
On Monday morning we met up at the Gleneagles Golf Club (in the Dormy Bar) with Dad's cousin Eve and her husband Gordon. A lovely venue, great staff, bad coffee apparently, and beautiful grounds. The Ryder Cup is going to be there in 2014. What a great venue for it.
We then headed to Bridge of Allan for lunch with Adriane while Eve and Gordon travelled north. A quiet afternoon and evening; just what we needed!
Tuesday we travelled to Edinburgh via St Andrews. After 10 days of sunshine it was a bit overcast unfortunately, but not too too cold. It was great for Mum to see the Old Course along with the University and the ruins of he cathedral and castle. A good outing and all very compact. We then headed on to Edinburgh. Dropped off the car at the airport, took a small walk along the Princes Street Gardens and had dinner at our accommodation (self catered - they have a great kitchen here) were the key events of the afternoon (we're a bit in recovery mode in preparation for Italy).
Only other note is that it is GREAT not to have to drive anymore!
Please note the 2nd lot of Scottish photos are all from Mum. Isn't she getting good!
