Yesterday we took a 20 mile trip through vineyard covered foothills to what is called the Shenandoah Valley to tour the Amador Flower Farm. The farm held a special event to showcase their approximately 1100 varieties of daylilies in their blooming prime. In addition to the 4 acres of landscaped daylily demonstration gardens, the farm had 200 unusual perennials on display. We walked through the gardens, took the informational tram ride and then enjoyed our lunch under one of the magnificent old live oak trees. Another lovely California day!
One of the most interesting and perhaps life changing "activities" here for me has been eating. My friends eat a plant-based diet as described in "The Engine 2 Diet" by Rip Esselstyn. The food has been outstanding and I plan to continue to eat this way as much as possible when I return home.
I have included a photo of why it is sometimes hard to find a place to sit here!
