We arrived in Pinetop-Lakeside this evening around five. It was a long drive from Quartzsite, over 300 miles. It seemed to pass fast for us because it was such a beautiful drive. We started out seeing those yellow Desert Marigolds blooming, then the farther we drove we saw more desert flowers in lots of colors. After driving though busy Phoenix, the scene changed to huge Saguaro Cactus. A few more miles and the scenery changed to huge green trees and mountains. It feels so good to be in the beautiful White Mountains of Arizona. It is in the 50,s and we are loving it.
We are planning to stay in the area for a least a month, we stopped at the Hon-Dah RV Park first for a couple of days. We always like to SEE the campgrounds before we commit to a month or more. We were very glad we did, the website made the one were thinking about look like paradise, when we actually saw it, it definitely was not. :-) It was advertised with huge private sites with lots of trees and space between sites etc. We learned fast that you can not depend on how they look on the websites. Anyway, after checking out all the campgrounds in the area, we found the perfect place and will be moving again in two days.
We have a great site here at Hon-Dah but the Wi-Fi is non existent and they move you to a different site if you stay more than a few days. I will be adding the pictures from the trip as soon as we move and have working Wi-Fi again. Check back later for more from Arizona.
