We decided to drive back to the Pinetop-Lakeside area again today, we visited Woodland Lake Park.
Woodland Lake Park is a community recreational gem located in the high pine forest of Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona. Thousands of people visit the park to fish, hike, picnic, play ball, bicycle, and view wildlife. The Park is only slightly smaller than New York City's Central Park, it contains 583 acres of forest, meadows, a lake, stream, backcountry and urban trails, and lots of ducks and other wildlife. This is a popular park with desert-dwellers from Phoenix and Tucson who visit to escape the summer heat.
After visiting Rainbow Lake in the area, we knew to expect a lot of ducks, we were not disappointed. We were prepared today with a huge bag of cracked corn to feed the ducks. As soon as we tossed the corn they flew in from all over the lake. We even gave some to the kids in the area to feed them too. :-)
The park is located in the heart of the town of Pinetop-Lakeside. It has tennis courts, softball fields, hiking trails, equestrian trails, mountain biking, fishing, ramadas for family picnics etc. We had a great time bird watching and walking one of the awesome trails. Another great day in Arizona, check back later for more.
