In the cab of the B&M Switcher

I made it to Connecticut. Arrived at the Aces High RV park in East Lyme yesterday afternoon. On the way I stopped at a railway museum. The attached is a photo of me sitting in the cab of a retired (very) Boston and Maine SW1 Yard Switcher built sometime in the 1940 by the Electric Motor Corp; Now known as the Electric Motor Division of General Motors.

I knew that I wasn't to far from my brother's home in Waterford. So I set out on my bike to ride over there. Boy, was I wrong and dumb. Not sure how many miles I rode but most of them was up hill. I finally got to a point where I had to call for assistance. My brother came and picked up. I probably rode somewhere in the neighborhood of 10+ miles, not really sure.

So I'm reasonably settled in and will be here until 1 August, then I head to New Hampshire.
