This morning, we decided to try to paddle up/down French Creek located on the outskirts of Clayton, New York. The St. Lawrence itself was wind-whipped but French Creek was more sheltered though for the first three miles, we battled an impressive headwind. Of course, once we turned around, the trip back to the marina took much less time. The geography was very New Jersey salt marshish despite the fact that the marshes were fresh water. The creek was filled with algae and a lot of seaweed and water lilies so it was more difficult to paddle the open leads which were narrow. Still, it was a nice trip up a creek with a paddle.
