Naxos Harbour with Mt Etna in background

The Greek Theatre in Taormina

View from Taormina

Town Sq in Taormina

Anchored off Naxos Beach and tendered in to the town of Naxos. From the ship we had a beautiful view of Snow topped Mt. Etna. Shared a cab with 6 other people up to the town of Taormina perched high atop a hill. This is one of our favorite places to visit, having spent time here 34 years ago when we toured Sicily with the children. We strolled around the town and were able to finally send our TripUpdates. We also walked around the Greek Theatre built in the 3rd century BC. This theatre is still used today and this evening there is a performance of Bizet's Carmen.

After taking the local bus down to Naxos again we reboarded the ship to head to our next destination - Amalfi/Positano.
