Happy birthday Dennis and Kaia

Greetings from Naval Weapons Station China Lake! Our first journal will be a short update on our lives since our last trip. As many of you knew, we left Florida earlier than anticipated because of my dad’s hospitalization. He was very ill and we felt it best we get back to California as soon as possible. He was discharged but was very weak. He received in home therapy and made some improvements so we left for our annual trip to Spring Training. Unfortunately, he was hospitalized again and passed away on March 21st and we had we laid him to rest on April 22nd. We did some local traveling before leaving on this trip; we spent a month at Seal Beach at the Naval Weapons Station and 10 days visiting friends in the Pismo Beach area. We left Southern California on June 4 after we celebrated Dennis’ 60th birthday in conjunction with Kaia’s 9th. Our plan is there is no plan except we need to renew our driver’s licenses (federal law) somewhere in South Dakota. We have tentative plans to travel there via Idaho, Montana, North Dakota and then South Dakota. If time permits, we may go as far east as Minnesota and then head back to California. We hope you enjoy our latest travel journal…..
