Moscow river

KGB building

St Basil's

Today we walked.

I estimate that I walked about 30 km.

We caught the metro to Sparrow Hills, then walked back to town.

This is the view from the bottom of Sparrow Hill. Gorky Park is on the right of the Moscow River. Old Moscow is on the left.

Past the Moscow Circus.

Past the stadium ready for the World FIFA cup next year.

Through Gorky Park.

Through Red October.

Past a huge statue of Christopher Columbus that is being passed off as a statue of Peter the Great.

Through the Church of Christ our Saviour.

Along the old Arbat - where we had lunch in a Russian cafe.

Past the KGB building.

Past Lublianca.

To the top of the world’s largest children’s store - 9 stories high - for the views over Moscow.

To Moscow’s top chocolate shop, where we bought 4 items - halva covered in chocolate.

Through the GUM (state department) store.

To Red Square.

Through Alexander Gardens.

And home - 9 hours - non-stop (apart from lunch) - since we left this morning.

I then went out again.

Back to Red Square.

I walked around the perimeter of the Kremlin (2.5km).

I took this photo of St Basil's as I walked around the Kremlin walls.

Had a bit of an explore, then home again.

Great day.
