We have been relaxing while watching all the crabbing boats going in and out. It is amazing to see how many buckets of crabs they are unloading. This is a very popular area for crabbing, people come from all over the United States for the delicious Dungeness crabs. One of our neighbors is from Portland, he stays here for a month each year just for the crabbing. He has a freezer packed with crab legs already cooked and shelled. Jerry made a great trade with him, he gave him some of our fresh fish from the deep-sea fishing trip for ready to eat crabs from his freezer. We were overloaded with fish and he was overloaded with crabs, what a great way to trade. :-)
We also went back to Mo’s in Newport for some of their blackened fish just to get the recipe. We were happy to receive much more than the recipe, they gave us a huge cup of their blackening seasoning already mixed and ready to put on the fish. We have already cooked blackened fish and shrimp, they were delicious. I am adding pictures from the crabbing and the boats coming in plus a few pictures of Jerry’s tomato plants and peppers and flowers. We rarely have time to grow tomatoes while camping, his plants are doing quite well. It feels good to be in relaxation mode sometimes. Check back later for more from Oregon.
