|It was a short drive to Milan from Verona under cloudy skies. By the time we reached Milan mountain tops were showing themselves. We followed Clio into the city and found a hotel ...Campion...adjacent to the underground. After we settled in we took the underground to the Duomo Station.
We went first to see Castello Sforzesco. We strolled through the grounds, had a look at Napoleon's great city plans, walked back across the busy streets to the pedestrian only street and along to the Duomo.
From in front we caught the B line hop on/hop off bus and went part way round tbe route. When the commentary quit, the bus headed to where we had got on and suggested we ride another.
It was late--5p--and there were other things to see. It was cold and felt like rain sooo we went for a snack. Yes it rained but had eased and stopped shortly after we were finished. Long lines for the Duomo stopped us from entering...but as you can see, it is neat from outside too.
We went into Gucci's store, Tiffany's, and a ﹰRalph ﹰLauren store. Very interesting. We had dinner on the 7th floor looking at the Duomo. The Duomo reminds me of Gaudi's Sagrada Familia with its intricate carvings. Back out in the piazza we discovered there was going to be a free concert with Gagliardi, an ex-Aussie singer starting at 9p. Young people were everywhere....as was security. We walked about through the opulent Galeria Vittorio Emanuelle ll to the La Scalla Opera House...Neat. we found Leonardo Da Vinci's Museum...almost at closing time....next time.
We then caught the subway back to Amenado Piazza, located Cesta Rosa and found our hotel were we settled for the night.
