On this beautiful and warm afternoon, we went for a ride up to Hudson and the Olana grounds. Olana was built as a home and farm for Frederich Church, a landscape artist of the 19th century. We could see that the house has been restored and the grounds now have placards showing where outbuildings of his farm once stood. The view looking south is still phenomenal. The garden near the house is in bloom with Fall flowers - wonder how the gardens stay in bloom all year long, since it is small and compact! The art in the yard reminded me of the gardens we visited in Canada that had a whole section of outdoor art.
