Dinner Sunday in Milan.

We walked the entire train to get to our coach.

Ponte Vecchio bridge.

Lunch time fun.

Only a copy but still impressive.

The great hall inside the Medici palace.

Dante's house.

The Duomo.

A Rennaissance parade to the Duomo.

Cooking class with Francesco.

Rolling gnocchi.

It was a great class.

Sunday night we went with Leslie to a great place with an entertaining waiter. He was really after Bob to relax and said dinner should last about 3-4 hours. For the second night in a row we got free lemoncello so we think he had as much fun as we did. Bob went home and I went with Leslie to the laundromat so she would be ready to head back to Stockholm. Words cannot express how good it was to spend time with Leslie. I'm so proud of her and what she's doing and am pleased we could see her in this environment. Will miss her dearly until I see her in the fall.

Very early Monday morning we caught the train to Florence. It was a beautiful day and we did a lot of walking just enjoying the sights. We crossed the Ponte Vecchio bridge, had lunch in an interesting piazza and headed into the Medici palace. A lot of art, old furniture on display. It doesn't get old for us to be in these old historic sights. We made a quick stop in a Dante museum, had gelato, watched a parade of Renaissance type soldiers and royalty headed toward the duomo. The main event for us was a Tuscan cooking class with Chef Francesco. Along with a number of mostly American tourists we created a 4 course meal including tiramisu and gnocchi with 3 sauces. We had such a good time but we're so far from home and splurged on a cab. Good choice.
