|Got up at about 8 after a rather goods nights sleep. Went to breakfast, which was more than good I have to say. Followed this by buying our week long bus pass at a news kiosk run by a very helpful Eastender who has moved here permanately. Gave us some extremely great tips and directions for us during our stay. Made our way to the front where all the ferries & trips set off from. Weather pretty good but a little breezy.
Had to make our way back to see the rep at the hotel to arrange our return transfer next Sunday. Was a little annoyed this was timed for midday; stops you from going too far to get some serious touring done.
Took the opportunity to have a look at the hotels rooftop terrace and swimming pool. The views from up here are unbelievable (see pics) which give a fantastic panoramic view of the capital.
Anyway, that done, we did purchase a trip which we thought we would do this afternoon which involved a 1 1/2 hour harbour trip. Before that made our way down to the front near to the hotel and had a very pleasant lunch in a promenade bistro/cafe. Made our way to the trip venue and climbed onboard on the upper deck. The trip weaved in & out of the many coves that make up the harbour covering Sliema & Valletta and the wind was unbelievable. We struggled to keep our glasses from flying off, but it did show us almost the whole of the coastline which incorporates the islands capital.
Now back at the hotel to have a quick coffee and then get ready for our meal & drinks tonight.
Thought we might try and have a quick drink in the Hole in the Wall pub that we have heard & read so much about but when we got there we couldn’t get near the place - very popular it would appear. So we returned back to our hotel bar where we stayed for the evening. As it turned out probably a little too long!
