Still love snapping shots of these neat turrets!

Downtown Clayton

Many old historic buildings in quaint little downtown Clayton.

Streets blocked off for the "boat party" .

An antique boat in the sunset. There will be an antique boat...

Going, going, gone!

Tomorrow we'll be aboard the Uncle Sam Boat Tours.

Thur., July 19th – Today was a day of traveling across the Adirondacks to the area known as the 1000 Islands on the St. Lawrence Seaway. The Merry Knoll Campground is beautifully situated right on the waterway near Clayton, NY. When we found out we were just in time for the Poker Run, we went downtown to the “boat party” street preview of these monstrous speed boats. We caught a great view of the sunset on the water before heading back to our rigs before dark.

Interesting Fact: Thousand Island Dressing was named in honor of the beautiful area where it was first prepared, Thousand Islands, New York. Story goes, in the early 20th century, a fishing guide's wife, Sophie Lalonde, made the condiment for her husband's shore dinner.
